//Song Review\\ Mat Hunsley comforts the listener with new single 'Rambling'
Most great things grow from small origins, especially with music, from scrappy lyrics written in the tour van on the way to the next show to a riff you can’t get out of your head unless you sing or play it out to the world. It can sometimes take a while to come back to it. This is the case with Mat Hunsley’s newest single ‘Rambling’ which started from an old voice memo of the acoustic riff on his phone.
Rambling is the third release taken from Mat’s upcoming ep ‘A Worrier’s Dream’, with a combination of stunning acoustic instrumentation, ghostly harmonies and distinct folk vocals swaying the listener into a safe comfort no matter where they may be listening.
Lyrically, this track sums up the familiar experience,of feeling burnt out and realising that it’s best, at times, to take a step back from something before moving forward. ‘my soliloquy is overheard’. This track is all about self-acceptance, the kind of song everyone needs around this time of year when deadlines and pressures are at their heaviest. Rambling is a comfort to all who may listen.
