//SONG REVIEW// '5am'~Freeda

5 am is the addictive new single from Manchester six piece Freeda, consisting of Sean Rowles,Adam Jackson, Callum Hignett, Cameron Meekums-Spence, Daniel Atherton, and Adam Barton, although it may only be around 2 minutes and 6 seconds in length but still packs a punch of groovy energy to start your day and perfectly fits the context of the tracks lyrics which follow the battle between two states of mind: the rushing by of life and overload of people and things to try to combat loneliness, and a much calmer,settled one especially around those you want to spend time with.

Taking influences from bands such as Peace the track is filled to the brim with high energy, and perfectly marries the tradition guitar based indie sound of the band and the fresh flow of electronic synth which form the songs main bulk, combined with the cool lyricism of the track, it is a match made in heaven.

‘5 am’ is a must have track for your playlists and I have a feeling this track with be a gem within the Freeda live setlist when gigs start back up.
