Not looking like that-'not another song about rock and roll/written and directed by' review

Not Looking like that are a DIY band by definition,creating two songs in a bedroom and recording everything themselves.'Not another song about rock and roll' and 'written and directed by' are the most recent offerings from the Glasgow punk 2-piece.

'Not another song about rock and roll' is raw and punchy with its scratchy guitar riffs and punky energy from start to finish which is similar to that of early green day tracks.As good as it is,it definitely needs polishing up ,as in parts it does sound very crashy and chaotic and the music overpowers the vocals.I could imagine something like this being used for an advert for doc martens or vans though.

Overall its a good song,however there is much room for improvement.

'Written and directed by' is much more meloncholy,it is definetely some what clearer than 'Not another song about rock and roll' but still has that punky,raw energy.It's quite similar in tone to Dead!'s 'W9' in tone and speed as well as energy.The clarity of the guitar riffs and drums definitely adds to the song.At times it is unclear to see where the song is going though,that is the only negative thing i can really say about it.

Overall,there are two good releases but 'Written and directed by' is my favourite out of these two tracks.

'Not looking like that' have potential to do well with practise and some time to develop their sound.
