Larkins with Support from The Bright Black-Manchester Academy 2- 21st April 2018

When a gig is sold out,you have high expectations for the bands, and Larkins show at the Manchester Academy absolutely surpassed those expections. It was a night to remember. With two excellent support bands as well it will be talked about for months after. Unfortunately,i was unable to catch Puppet Theory as i arrived late, that is why they are not included within this review. The Bright black were the first band on and they set a positive exciting tone for the whole show and they how to steal a show no matter the lineup and this show was no exception, their set was incredibly smooth, and every song transitioned well into another allowing to tell their epic story not only musically but with their moves on stage, every song was a hit with the crowd, there was something their for everyone ,from their first song to the last , hands were waving and not one person is the room was still which not many bands can do. Even afterwards, they were very popular with crowd as they were surrounded by fans and friends as soon as they left the stage. The crowd cheered for more, energetic and marked by The bright black's vibrant set. Main act Larkins had the crowd begging for them to come on,and as soon as they did, the room came to life even more, the room practically pulsed with electricity and a remarkable energy. From the jump they had the room bouncing and singing along, screams of 'I love you' and frantic waves from the crowd erupted as soon as the first song finished. 'Velvet' was a crowd favourite because as soon as they began to play it the crowd absolutely lost it.Every lyric they sang was amplified and sent back in energetic waves to the band. They're music rang loud and clear making the room feel like it was going to burst. Larkins are the type of band who can make a room feel like an arena which is difficult to do.Throughout the show humble thank yous were voiced by Larkins, because without the crowd, they wouldn't be here.Larkins created an atmosphere of joy and showed that if you work hard enough you can get anywhere. Larkins really are Manchester's next Arena Act.
