Weekend Recovery 'Why Don't You Love Me?' review and interview

Emotions can help to create the best and most powerful songs, they give us something we can relate to when we are frustrated, upset, happy or excited.'Why Don't you love me?' is one of those songs that everyone can relate to for different reasons which adds so much strength and power to the song.

I asked the Band to explain the inspiration behind 'Why Don't You Love me?',how it was written and how they would describe it.

What was the inspiration for the song 'Why Don't you love me?'

why don't you love me was written out of frustration. I'm sure it's a feeling a lot of bands have - like sometimes you can bang on a door a million times and not get an answer yet someone else will come along knock once and be let in. It's a weird feeling in music like what the hell do you have to do to get noticed. When I write songs I try to make them personal but general as well so lots of people can relate, so this song for other people may have a completely different meaning but that's the beauty of music it's so subjective!

Was there a specific song writing process?

A lot of our songs are written by me singing random little melodies on my phone which then become songs. I 9/10 start with a chorus cos I think that's the most important part that initial hook. Verses are always the build up to what you want to say.
