//Song Review\\ The Strangerz hit the ground running with latest single 'Hit The Ground'
Some days are great for being productive and taking on the world; others are better for laying around and thinking about life. Hit the Ground from Manchester/Doncaster post-punk band The Strangerz, perfectly encapsulates that feeling of never wanting to leave your bed.
With its contrasting tones of rich basslines and hooks that wrap around you like a winter duvet on a cold night, and raw shouty vocals provided by the band's powerhouse of a lead singer, Martha Kelly, combined with rough melodic guitars and thudding drum rhythms, ‘Hit The Ground’ bursts onto the scene from the get-go with high energy and a solid understanding of who it is; confident, and unashamed of standing out, very much like its creators.
If you’ve spent your time recently bouncing around shouting along to Australian Punk Rock stars like Amyl and The Sniffers or rocking along to Heads will roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs (a classic) then ‘Hit The Ground’ is right up your street, it’s a perfect marriage of the two. Be loud and Bold and get The Strangerz on your playlist and hit the ground running, or lying on your bedroom rug, this week.
