//Song Review// 'Landslide' Martha Hill
‘Landslide’ is the second single from Newcastle’s incredible Martha Hill, taken from her upcoming EP, Summer Up North.
The song reflects on the sensation of not feeling right and the experience people have with it, as well as the escapism they will turn to, to counteract the feeling,which is very common within our world. It follows on from Martha's last release, ‘Grilled Cheese’, back in June.
‘Landslide’ possesses a bright, stand out musicality of deep guitar and synthy elements which contrast perfectly with the dark lyrics that occupy the verses of the song, with both focusing on a different situation and experience based on the context of the song. (mentioned above) The song has a distinct relatability especially within the first verse ‘She says hello, but I don’t know who she is, say hi back and I don’t think that she notices.’,drawing you in from the get-go and leaving you craving more with each listen.
Add this track to your must-listen playlists, it is a gem of a listen.
